Important Registration & League Information

The Gettysburg Grizzlies Flag Football Club operates as an independent youth sports club separate from the YMCA. While we are an independent organization, we proudly participate in seasonal leagues hosted by the Hanover / Gettysburg Area YMCA, and all Grizzlies teams adhere to the YMCA’s official flag football rules, guidelines, and code of conduct during league play.

Please Note (Two-Step Registration): Registering with or expressing interest in joining the Gettysburg Grizzlies Club does not automatically register your child with the YMCA for the flag football season. To compete in league games, families must also complete official player registration directly through the YMCA portal and meet their league requirements.

How Our Club & YMCA Registration Works

We want to make sure your athlete gets properly rostered! While the Gettysburg Grizzlies participate in the Hanover / Gettysburg Area YMCA Flag Football League, following all YMCA gameplay rules, divisions, and safety guidelines, our club operates independently from the YMCA.

Because of this, joining our team is a two-part process:

• Step 1: Join the Grizzlies – Sign up with our club so our coaching staff can place your athlete on a team roster, arrange practice schedules at Gettysburg Rec Park, and coordinate team gear.

• Step 2: Official YMCA League Registration – Register directly with the Hanover / Gettysburg Area YMCA for the upcoming season. Signing up with the Grizzlies does not automatically register your player with the YMCA. During registration, we will make every effort to ensure that Grizzlies play on the same team. We will provide our team rosters to the YMCA prior to official YMCA registration opening.
