Saturday Game Days at South Hanover YMCA
Saturdays are for flag football! The Gettysburg Grizzlies take the field each Saturday at the South Hanover YMCA for league game days. It’s where all the week’s hard work, route running, and flag-pulling drills come together under the lights and on the turf. Bring your camp chairs and get ready to bring the roar for our athletes!
What to Expect at Practices and Games
-
At the Gettysburg Grizzlies, our athletes always come first. Our dedicated coaching staff is committed to fostering a safe, positive, and supportive atmosphere where kids feel confident trying
Great coaches build more than just athletic skills; they create an environment where young athletes feel secure, valued, and encouraged to grow. When a coach prioritizes safety and emotional support, mistakes turn into learning opportunities rather than moments of fear, helping players build lasting confidence both on and off the field. By leading with clear communication, fairness, and genuine care, supportive coaches instill a lifelong love for the game and show their athletes that their character matters just as much as the scoreboard.
-
Great teams aren't built on game day—they’re formed on the practice field. During every drill and scrimmage, our players learn to communicate, trust each other on their assignments, and celebrate the small wins together. By lifting each other up after missed plays and working as one unit, our athletes discover that true success comes from playing for the teammate beside them.
-
Talent sets the starting point, but effort defines the finish line. We teach our athletes that real progress is earned through sweat, focus, and the willingness to push through tough drills. When players commit to giving their absolute best on every rep, they build the grit and resilience needed to overcome challenges both on the gridiron and in life.
-
High-fives, quick feet, and relentless excitement define our practices. We believe kids learn best when they’re moving and smiling, so we design high-tempo sessions where hustle and joy go hand-in-hand. When the game is fun, every rep counts and every player thrives.
